Human Geometry in Math - Here we are playing games and using our bodies to help us remember our geometric terms.

Today we began our Social Studies International Fair project.

In math we are learning about positve and negative integers. We are also learning about absolute value and opposite integers.

Today we also carried out an investigation on Greek columns.
The hyptohesis was related to whether Greek columns were the shape they were, purely because they looked attractive,
or because this shape provided more support. The children designed and carried out experiments to test this.

I hope you all had a nice long weekend. This week we will be dramatizing different episodes of The Odyssey. We will be continuing to learn about the Ancient Greeks. Particularly about the City States of Athens and Sparta. In math we will be continuing to practice multiplying and dividing fractions. It's going to be a short but busy week!
