newtons laws of motion newtons 3rd law probably had the most impact because the balloon we used was pushed forward by the air inside of it because "for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction". when the balloon flew the latex was going back to its original form which caused it to push out the air that was in the balloon out. the air that escaped was hitting the air.

Shut down your screen week written by Adam carstens

What would you vote if we shut down our screens for one whole week. Would you vote yes or no? For me I would have to vote no because a lot of students in America use computers to do their work on and how are we supposed to chat with friend online in fact here’s a quote from peter norvig, director of research at google Inc. on the subject of this “I’m interested in the guidance computers on the Apollo spacecraft in the 1960’s. My local library has no books about that specific subject – just 18 books about the Apollo missions in general I could hunt through those or turn to google, which returns 45,000 pages, including a definitive encyclopedia article and instruction for building a unit.”

What I’m trying to say is that it would be very hard to find new information without computers like having to sift through massive books just to find a tiny segment on what you’re researching. And cellphones and computers are making us more social then ever due to the amount of people with a phone/computer with this sort of technology which is good consider back then when we had no cellphones and computers therefore a lot of people back then barely knew anyone now and last time I checked the more people you were friends with the happier you were so either way computer and other device are helping us be more friendly.

A lot of things can be done with a computer in fact some people can figure out some pretty complex diseases like cancer and aids. Heck we can even make 3D models using some software’s were we can build and design just about anything you can think of. And with 3D computer modeling we’ve already made some pretty cool stuff with 3D printing and designing and with drones on the rise computers and cellphones will be able to control these awesome inventions some people have made.

In conclusion this entire essay was an opinion about how we should shut down our computers for a week but I say no because A: we can instantly find information about a specific subject B: computers and cellphones are making more social then ever C: we will be able to solve complex diseases. Anyways what’s your opinion on this subject make sure you think about it.

Red-billed hornbill facts
The red-billed hornbill is one of the smaller hornbills. It’s species is only found in some parts of Africa. It has a mainly whitish underbelly and head, a long tail and long, curved red bill. The male and female look similar, but the female has a smaller bill. The long, curved bill is an adaptation for digging. Red-bills mostly live on the ground and roost in trees near the trunk, or on a large branch. They can fly, despite having relatively short wings. They are usually found in pairs or small family parties, but during the dry season may congregate in flocks of several hundred at feeding areas such as water holes. The red-billed hornbill is a territorial bird. They may defend territories against their own species. However, red-bills do not defend their territory from other hornbill species with the result that several hornbill species will overlap territories.Females usually laythree to six eggs in a tree cavity. She seals herself and the nest off with a cement like substance made of mud, droppings and fruit pulp. A narrow opening allows the male to transfer food to her, and later to her and the chicks as they remain sealed inside. Incubation is usually 23 to 25 days while in the nest with the chicks, the female molts. When chicks are about 20 days old, the female breaks out and rebuilds the wall to expand the nesting area, and then both parents feed the chicks together. Chicks fly well on emerging from the nest and never return to it, although they may remain with their parents for six months and their life span is only 15 years.

What would you do if you woke up one morning and America had its stock market crash?
That’s exactly what happened in the 1930’s. The great depression was very hard for everybody some people had their house torn down due to foreclosure and millions of people went all the way across America just to get a job.

Mostly everybody headed for the southern states as they weren’t that bad in market crash but the dust bowl which was caused by a three year drought ad when the winds picked up it blew all the topsoil and crops out of the soil. Many house and home were destroyed when this happened as well as some live were also lost in the havoc. which also made the stock market even worse because farmers could not grow food.
in the poem debts a father is thinking about getting a loan so he can buy some seed to grow however the mother disagrees with the farther they then start arguing because the mother believes it will not rain which will not make the seeds grow the father then goes outside to calm down.
In the story “digging in” a family has to live out of the ordinary jobs because the mine that was the was closed down due to the stock market crashing here is a part of it “The closing of the old west side mine meant the end of anything resembling a steady job”. I believe that the mine was the only source of dependable income. And the town seems to be a very western town so I say its people left to California or somewhere jobs were available
Another section of this story is this “looking back I find it amazing what we did without. A partial lis would include toothpaste (we used soda)”. Strange I always thought soda rots your teeth ok back on topic the family use some common item and made the most of uses out of them.

But then again that brings the question what would you do if you were in the great depression like when you had to use soda for toothpaste or you had to go door to door selling stuff just to a dollar or two
What would YOU do when you had no money no house or no car just your suitcase and on your way to California. Thank you for reading the this essay

the serfs house
serf where essentially peasants they where very poor and lived in shacks however the shack they live in is very very poorly made. the floors were of dirt, there was a lot of dirt hanging around like dirty clothing. food was tough to grow in certain seasons like winter and fall. most serfs would not live past the age of 45 due to disease or other afflictions
.

the castle
there are 7 parts to a castle, number 1 being the turret. the turret is a guard that warns the kingdom about any incoming invaders and signals all of the serfs in to the castle. number 2 of the castle is the robe room or the wardrobe where clothes are kept in a trunk or a dresser. going on to number 3 is the lords bedroom, a lord is a noble man that has given the king trustworthy responsibility. the lords bedroom is just his bedroom. number 4 is the solar. it is basically a game room where you can hang out and have fun. number 5 is the treasure room. this is where all the money, gold, silver and other precious metals are held. number 6 is the dungeon. where criminals are held until they die or are put to death. least but not least at number 7 is the kitchen where baked goods are prepared for the king and queen.

Malala The Powerful Feedback
Nice essay Adam!
I thought that your hook was great! It really pulled me in. You state your opinion clearly in the intro. also (Claim).

You show a good understanding of the structure of an essay. You also used evidence well. Particularly in the first body paragraph.
You use a lot of details and really tell Malala's story.
GOAL: I would like to see your body paragraphs a little more focused on answering the question. Try to structure body paragraphs as follows:
- Re-state claim
- Provide evidence
- Explain how the evidence supports the claim.

A great essay. Congrats! Mr.W

Malala the Powerful
What would you do if you had to stand for your right just to learn? Well in Pakistan around 2009 Malala Youzafzai started to talk about this on a blog on the bbc’s website. In the poem, In Darkest Hours, there is a girl being described as “a person that carries a mountain on their backs”. Malala is just like this girl.

In the poem, in darkest hours the poem describes a courageous person who brought help when times were tough. Malala was courageous because she risked life and limb for her right to be educated to become a doctor. “In 2009 she started to blog about what it was like to be under the Taliban”.

In 2010 the Taliban started to leave notes under her door telling her to give up her crusade. But she didn’t stop she kept blogging until on October 9 2010 she was shot on a bus on the way to school by a Taliban extremist. When Malala fully recovered from the shooting she continued to fight for her right. She is just like the courageous person in the poem. She is brave for doing this because she could be shot and killed or publicly whipped.

Another reason that Malala was courageous, like the girl in the poem, was because she is a female and females under the Taliban’s rules aren’t allowed to do the things men can do like drive cars and go to school. When she spoke out she was very popular with the Pakistani people but when she was shot everybody felt extreme sorrow when she was shot however this made the fight even stronger. And her fight still continues to this very day. When in 2011 the president of Pakistan gave her a youth peace prize.

In conclusion, the person described in the poem was Malala Youzafzai in a nutshell. She was one of the most courageous people to do that because she could’ve been killed doing it.
What would you do if you weren’t allowed to go to school?.
