We have just started a new social studies unit on Ancient Rome. The students have been learning about the geography of Rome and its favorable location in the middle of the Italian peninsula. We have also discussed the roman form of republican government and the students have participated in a class debate. This week the students have been working on a project that coincides with the legend surrounding the founding of Ancient Rome. This project requires students to retell the legend of Romulus and Remus in a graphic retelling or dramatic play. Keep checking in to see what we will be learning in the coming weeks!
6W preparing and participating in a class debate.
The students in 6W and 6C recreated the story of Romulus and Remus, a legend surrounding the founding of Rome, using a graphic retelling or a dramatic retelling. Here are some examples of the student's hard work. This week we will be focusing on the Roman Army and why it was so successful in creating the greatest empire known to man.
