Hello. This is Carrie speaking. Welcome to my section on this blog. Sometimes it is a record of daydreams, Carrie of Dremclod. Dremclod is a magical land that somehow grew into my brain 5 years ago by means of dreaming! Filled with magical forests and mystical creatures, the City of Dreams is the ideal place for my brain to go when I feel tired or bored. But sometimes my section is a record of real happenings, no matter how more exciting Dremclod might be. The real happenings are typed in black, and fictional dreams are purple. So have fun!

March 13, 2015
Today is the school's Annual Reading Extravaganza! I always go, but this year I think I'll be the only sixth grader to do so. I am obsessed with reading. So obsessed, in fact, that some of the boys (no names here) try to get me to STOP! They will never succeed. I like the R.E because I get free books, and I've run out of good ones. Anyway, back to MY book!
Now that I knew Scooter's identity, I could understand him better. He was offering to aid me so he could get a good mark on his abysmal record. Maybe even get promoted. He wasn't power-hungry or anything, he just wanted to do something right for once in his life. Pansy continued her rant. "If Kitten Paradise gets revealed, and the hoo-mans found us," (Pansy couldn't pronounce the word "human" right, so she said "hoo-mans" instead) "we could be in huge trouble! The whole agency could be forced to work for the hoo-mans! And..." She saw me. Pansy's mouth hung wide open, shocked. "Mommy? What are you doing here?" Whenever Pansy spoke to me, she called me Mommy. "Did you hear? I'm the Princess of Dremclod!"
March 3rd, 2015 I gaped in shock. Did... that... cat... just... It was impossible! How could a cat be intelligent enough to enter a passcode all by itself? Then I remembered something. This place is made up of my imagination. So what part of my imagination included super-smart cats? I racked my brains for a moment. Suddenly, it hit me. When I was in third grade, my aunt suggested that I enter a story contest. I came up with the idea of a cat spy agency, called the Cat Agency of Today, or the C.A.T. My cat, Pansy, was the commander in the story. I didn't win the contest, but the C.A.T grew. My sister Jennifer and I sometimes played it. (and actually, still do today in what I call "radio form." Instead of acting out the story, we simply say what's going on and what the characters say.) We came up with new ideas for it, mostly new characters like Shirley, the best spy other than Pansy; Gilt, the Gadget Guy's Assistant (my other cat Luke being the Gadget Guy); and Pie, the worst, most annoying spy cat in the agency. I always fantasized about how my story would be my "first bestseller." But I can never get past the first chapter, which is a remake of the original story. I can never make it interesting. Trying to remake the original idea is so boring! The idea of the first chapter is great, in my opinion. An ordinary cat named Milestone suddenly gets inducted into the C.A.T forcibly and has to learn how to be a spy cat. But I can never get the idea to work! Thus, The C.A.T will probably not be my "first bestseller." Back to Dremclod. When I realized this was the shadow of my little third-grade story, I was shocked! Not because this was my old fantasy, but because the C.A.T building was supposed to be set in the strange land called Kitten Paradise. I won't even try to explain that part of the story. This place definitely wasn't Kitten Paradise. What was the building doing here? "Ahem." I turned around. No one was there. "A-HEM!" I looked down. Another cat was there! "Umm... hi. I'm the new princess, I guess." The cat stared. "You guess? You're not sure, you guess?" "Um, I mean, I'm the new princess" I corrected myself. The cat blinked at me. "Well, Princess, if you would mind moving. Commander Pansy just texted me, and she wants to talk." I shuffled to the left. "Okay, umm, go ahead." The cat nodded, put in a passcode, and started to enter the building. But then, I thought of something. "Hey, uh, Cat?" I called. The cat turned. "Yes, Princess?" "I'd like to see Commander Pansy. Please. It's very important." After all, I thought, I'm her owner. Surely she'll help me. "All right. Follow me" said the cat. "And for future reference, the name's Scooter. Agent Scooter." Agent Scooter. The name was familiar. Maybe he it was one of the names of a character in some unfinished story I wrote. I had a lot of unfinished stories. Sometimes I have a story idea, and then when I start writing it, I can't think of much more than the character names. I followed Scooter into the building. Luckily, there was a human-sized door, so I didn't have to risk the humiliation of crawling through the doggy door. Or is it a kitty door, I pondered.
I was amazed at what I saw! The building looked exactly as I always imagined it: like a mix between the local nursing home and my school cafeteria, with giant rooms human-sized. Cats in black collars with the words SPECIAL FORCES in silver on them stalked the hallways. "Coming through. Excuse me. Princess of Dremclod passing" mumbled Scooter to various spies. Then we stopped at a door. It said, PANSY- COMMANDER OF THE C.A.T in golden letters. And beneath it, on regular lined paper, scrawled with orange crayon: ENTR AT UR OWNN RISSC
I supposed that it was supposed to spell, "enter at your own risk," but in my stories Pansy had always been an atrocious speller. "Come on," grunted Scooter. "Pansy is waiting." I nodded. Inside that door was my dearest pet, and my guide to surviving in Dremclod. We entered. There was Pansy, my little kitten I helped raise since she was two weeks old. Like everything else in the building, she looked exactly like I thought she would: sleek, short black fur, golden eyes, just like the real Pansy at home. But she was wearing a smart white suit and a string of pearls hung around her little neck. Whenever my sister tried to put a necklace on Pansy at home, (never me, I knew when Pansy wanted to be loved or left alone) Pansy would run away and hide under the bed. Now here was my Pansy, wearing one without a fuss! Pansy didn't notice me yet, she just motioned for Scooter to sit in a white leather chair by her desk. She was talking on her phone. I smiled at the sound of her voice. Whenever Jennie and I played, Pansy had an adorable squeaky voice that everyone adored. It was funny to hear in real life. "Uh-huh. Yeah. Understood. Well, once you get Pie out of the incinerator, send him down here so I can have a nice, long talk with me in my office. This is the eighth time this week! Bye, Shirley. Scooter's here, and I need to talk with him. Yes, I'll tell Gilt you said hi. Bye!" Pansy hung up. "Pie got stuck in the incinerator AGAIN?" inquired Scooter. Pansy shuffled some papers on her desk around. "Yes. Luckily, it wasn't lighted this time. Anyway, I wouldn't care if it was on. Pie is so annoying!" She put the papers down. "And so is your tendency to nearly reveal Kitten Paradise! What were you thinking? Leaving the entrance wide open at the Human World end? You're lucky a wishy-washy Total Pet didn't fall down the hole like last time." Scooter looked down. Suddenly, I remembered why his name sounded familiar! In my first story about the C.A.T, Scooter made the mistake of leaving the entrance to the agency open. Milestone, who was what the cats considered a Total Pet (that is, a pet not involved in the C.A.T or Kitten Paradise) fell down the hole and was forced to become an agent. Fortunately, that episode had ended well, because Milestone ended up becoming one of the top spies. But Scooter made mistakes frequently, because although he was pretty intelligent, he was forgetful.

Today was the book fair. I didn't get anything, but tonight I will go back and get a couple of books.
I decided to avoid any more awkwardness and get away from the kid. It's okay, I told myself, just because you can't talk to a little girl without embarrassing yourself doesn't mean you aren't qualified to rule. Besides, I'll plan all my future speeches. I came to a building that was completely at contrast with the rest of the village. The rest of the town was small, quaint, and medieval. This was a giant, looming office tower that wouldn't look out of place in New York City. But, although the structure itself was surprising, the residents were downright weird! A little kitten, no bigger than a shoe, ran through my legs to a tiny doggy door. A screen came up onto the door. The cat typed in a code and entered the building.

I apologize for not blogging sooner. I have had a lot going on, like my birthday which was on the 7th! I made cheesecake cupcakes for the class. They had purple cream cheese frosting. Now for the story part.
Once I changed into a little dress, not too constricting, just something appropriate for casual use (I couldn't very well walk around a village in my pajamas!) I walked out. The castle was bigger than I originally thought, and I kept getting lost. But I finally made my way to the village. I saw some little shops, and people kept staring at me. Not a single human was present. Instead, there were walking cats and pointy-eared guys. At one point, a little girl with blue skin ran to another blue-skinned person and said, "Mommy, Mommy, is that the Royal the Mages chose?" I smiled at the little girl. She was so cute! "Hi. I'm Carrie. Umm..." I was at a loss for words. Making an unplanned speech in front of weird blue-skinned kids is not my best talent. "Yeah, umm, I'm the princess... umm... so, yeah... just, go on what you're doing..." I trailed off.
January 21st, 2015 I couldn't believe that my old game was actually in existence. But then again, why not? After all, Dremclod was invented by daydreams. So logically, my former game was in my dimension. "Please, continue." "You could also visit the Crystal Beasts. Yours is in the Caves... somewhere." said Ada. I considered it. How cool would it be to meet my own Crystal Beast? I could ask it my future...but what if it didn't want to talk? Visiting the Forest would be nice... but when my sister and I played, there were always dangers. I wasn't prepared for any dangerous encounters. The village... I could acquaint myself with the civilians, maybe make some new friends. I decided to go for the easiest, least complicated approach. "I guess I'll visit the village." I said. "
January 20th,2015 Traveling to Dremclod by...daydreaming? It seemed too good to be true. I could continue normal life AND rule an alternate dimension at the same time! "So, do you like the deal?" asked Ada. "How could I not?" I said. "This is the coolest place EVER! One question though." "Ask away." "Am I the queen or the princess?"" Alainn smiled. "Whatever you want. It is your dimension to rule." I smiled. "Princess, duh. I'm too young to be a queen." I could only imagine what it could possibly be like to rule my own separate world. "So, now what?" "Well, we could share some backstory stuff with you. Or you can explore the village, maybe even the Enchanted Forest..." "Enchanted Forest? The Enchanted Forest?" I interrupted. When I was little, four or five, I played a little game called The Enchanted Forest with my sister. I hadn't thought about it for years. "Yes, the Enchanted Forest."
January 14th, 2015
To all my readers: I apologize for the long wait, but the computer was not available. Sorry for the suspense in the story! Today is Genius Hour again, and once more I forgot my flash drive. I shall probably finish my pictures tonight and put it together tomorrow. Now, for Carrie of Dremclod.
I analyzed my options. I could go home and continue with my normal life, or I could stay and help a different dimension that I knew absolutely nothing about. If I chose the former, Dremclod wouldn't be completely helpless. That other girl, Kristi Paulson, would rule. But then again, I was the first choice. What if Kristi wouldn't take care of the place as well as she could? As little as I knew of this place, I knew I loved it. I turned my head to the window. The view was brilliant. I could see a small village, exactly as I always imagined medieval villages to look like. Beyond that was a forest, and a valley. I could see mountains in the distance, tall and craggy. This land was the most wondrous place I ever could have imagine. It would be foolish, I reasoned, to give up so much. "I...guess I'll help you out" I said. "But what about my family? My friends, my cats?" Alainn smiled. "You will not leave there when you travel here." I was confused. "How?" "When you travel here, it will only be your mind that will come. You humans do it all the time. I believe you call it 'daydreaming?'" said Amalia. That simple sentence made me realize something. "If I travel to Dremclod by daydreaming, does that mean this isn't real?" Alainn thought for a while. "Well, I wouldn't say that. I believe you are a fan of the Harry Potter franchise?" I nodded. I am a Harry Potter fan through and through, but I had no idea why that was applicable now. "Well, I believe that in the seventh book, Albus Dumbledore says something like, 'Well of course this is in your head, Harry, but why does that make you think it is not real?'" I nodded again, starting to see where this was going. "So there. It is very real in your head. That is how you travel to Dremclod" said Alainn. to be continued...
January 9th, 2015 One of the lights approached me. My eyes were opened just the tiniest bit. I saw a hand outstretched to my face, and didn't move a muscle. "She is awake. Otherwise she'd be twitching" noted the light known as Amalia. Oh. "Hand me some Pix Dust." I assumed she said "Pixie Dust", so I inferred we were about to fly somewhere. Except, pixie dust was only supposed to exist in Disney movies. My heartbeat sped up as I realized that somehow, magic was involved. For some reason, I had always had some idea that magic could possibly exist. It did not affect my schoolwork, I never thought about it that much, but a tiny fraction in the back of my mind believed. And now that was being proved. The being that asked for the Pix Dust sprinkled said dust over my head and I immediately fell unconscious.
Indoor recess has changed a lot since the beginning of the year. For one thing, everyone plays modified MumBall instead of other stuff. So recess is quieter. But also, I can spend my recess occupied instead of alone. Usually I hang back and join in whatever looks interesting, or I just read. Now I can keep myself busy writing my first published works, if blogs count as published works. I have always wanted a way to get others to read my writings, instead of waiting to finish a book before I show others. Now, it's kind of like a TV show, only writing. People can see the next part every day (except, probably not weekends.) I usually think of the people who hang out together at recess in certain groups. I will not name the groups, or the people. But out of all the groups, I have never felt like I truly belong in any of them. I hang out with groups, as a kind of floater. Now, I can spend my time doing the thing I really love to do: write!
I awoke in a circular room. It was completely lavender, and had a glass door leading out to a balcony. I wasn't too puzzled; after all, I had expected the entities to take me somewhere else. The bed I was lying on was softer than I had ever imagined a bed to be. I immediately decided that the entities couldn't be all that bad, despite the fact that they had kidnapped me. There was a knock. Purely out of habit, I said "Come in." In came three of the most beautiful women I had ever thought to see in my life. One was dressed in a golden gown that dragged behind her gracefully. Her hair was blacker than the raven and glinted in the light. Another was a little more rugged, with auburn hair. Her outfit was dark indigo with a short skirt. The third was the most elegant of the group. Her hair was a graceful silver, yet her face was stunningly youthful. She was dressed in a white gown, not as showy as the black-haired woman's one but I thought it was the prettiest. "Allow me to introduce myself and my sisters. I am Alainn, this is Amalia (she gestured to the golden-gowned one) and Ada ( the auburn haired.) We are the three Mages of Dremclod. And you are the most important person in this province." said the one with silver hair. "I'm..." I started. "We know who you are, Carrie. We have watched you for a while now" said Amalia. "Even though its COMPLETELY invading your privacy and makes me feel like a complete stalker" said Ada. She seemed like the least serious and most modern Mage. "Okay, so you know me. But I don't know you. What do you mean, I'm the most important person in the province? Why did you kidnap me? Where are we, anyway?" I asked, extremely confused. "And what in the world is a Mage?" I had about a million more questions, but Alainn held up her hand. "All in good time. My sisters and I have watched you for a while, Carrie, along with several other children in the world, because the Crystal Beasts say you have the potential to rule. A Crystal Beast," she said, seeing as I was about to ask, "is a creature that lives primarily in caves that house rare jewels. Each Crystal Beast is connected to a human on Earth. So, naturally, the Crystal Beast race is thriving. They know the past, present and future of that human. Crystal Beasts are the wisest creatures in any dimension you care to name. A few Crystal Beasts are connected to humans with a thriving imagination and logical mind. Those two traits are nearly impossible to find in a person, but seven humans exactly fit the description. Among them are you. "We need someone to rule Dremclod. The land you are in is Dremclod, if you are wondering. So we consulted the Crystal Beasts to see who would make a satisfactory ruler. They chose the Seven of Potential, and left the rest to us. So we chose you." I had been thinking about everything she said. Then I had a thought. "This isn't going to become one of those 'Only you can save the world' thingies, is it?" "Nah. Technically, anyone can save the world if they put their mind to it. We thought that if you turn down the job, we can always choose Kristi Paulson. She was the second place lead" said Ada.
to be continued...
January 8th, 2015 Imagination is one of the most powerful forces on Earth. Without it, no one would have ideas. Humans would never have gotten past the caveman age. We had to imagine how to invent things before we did them. So without imagination, we wouldn't dream, and Magic wouldn't exist. This is how I aided in the rescue of Dremclod, the City of Dreams.
One night, I was almost asleep. I often like to daydream before I sleep, so I can choose what I dream about. Even though it doesn't work at all. Then, I saw them: three iridescent blue lights floating through my window! I had no idea what they were. It was the queerest thing I ever saw. So, in case the lights turned out to be a threat, I stayed exactly in the position where I was. Not the easiest thing. I often fidget in my sleep, but perhaps these light thingies didn't know that. Then, one of them spoke. "Are you positively sure she's the one, Sister?" " I am certain, Amalia." " I don't see why such drastic measures are necessary. Why can't we defeat Morgora by ourselves? Why do we need... a human?" asked another one. " We are too few in numbers. How can three stand against thousands of Nightmonsters? And the Pixes are beginning to doubt. They may decide to abandon Dremclod and live in the Gray Mountains. The Crystal Beast said she has the potential." I pretended to be asleep, wondering what they could be talking about.

Today, we are working on our Genius Hour projects, as we do every Wednesday. Mine is making a stop motion movie with my brother's Legos. The story? Lego Red Riding Hood and the Brick Bad Wolf! It is an extended version of Little Red's story, including a few extra characters. I already have over 500 pics for the 5 scenes I have so far. It is only about a minute long, but its a minute filled with fun and laughs! I am especially proud of the way the Wolf turned out... and several normal actions were extremely hard to pull off, such as Little Red taking off her hood. We end our projects in three weeks, counting today. I should be able to finish the last couple scenes before then. I just need to remember to bring my flash drive! Today I forgot it. Just as well. I haven't saved my recent pictures on it yet...
Not that long ago, I discovered Magic. Everyone should know what Magic is, or at least what magic, lowercase M, is. Magic (capital M) is what creates dreams. And I don't mean nightmares, but good, innocent, happy dreams that give you a relaxed, peaceful feeling inside. And dreams are some of the most important parts of life. Dreams are the heart of Imagination... to be continued...

I smiled. "Princess, duh. I'm too young to be a queen." I could only imagine what it could possibly be like to rule my own separate world. "So, now what?"
"Well, we could share some backstory stuff with you. Or you can explore the village, maybe even the Enchanted Forest..."
"Enchanted Forest? The Enchanted Forest?" I interrupted. When I was little, four or five, I played a little game called The Enchanted Forest with my sister. I hadn't thought about it for years.
"Yes, the Enchanted Forest."

My friends, my cats?"
Alainn smiled. "You will not leave there when you travel here."
I was confused. "How?"
"When you travel here, it will only be your mind that will come. You humans do it all the time. I believe you call it 'daydreaming?'" said Amalia.
That simple sentence made me realize something. "If I travel to Dremclod by daydreaming, does that mean this isn't real?"
Alainn thought for a while. "Well, I wouldn't say that. I believe you are a fan of the Harry Potter franchise?"
I nodded. I am a Harry Potter fan through and through, but I had no idea why that was applicable now.
"Well, I believe that in the seventh book, Albus Dumbledore says something like, 'Well of course this is in your head, Harry, but why does that make you think it is not real?'"
I nodded again, starting to see where this was going.
"So there. It is very real in your head. That is how you travel to Dremclod" said Alainn.

One of the lights approached me. My eyes were opened just the tiniest bit. I saw a hand outstretched to my face, and didn't move a muscle.
"She is awake. Otherwise she'd be twitching" noted the light known as Amalia. Oh.
"Hand me some Pix Dust."
I assumed she said "Pixie Dust", so I inferred we were about to fly somewhere.
Purely out of habit, I said "Come in."
In came three of the most beautiful women I had ever thought to see in my life.
"And what in the world is a Mage?"
I had about a million more questions, but Alainn held up her hand.
So we chose you."
I had been thinking about everything she said. Then I had a thought. "This isn't going to become one of those 'Only you can save the world' thingies, is it?"
"Nah. Technically, anyone can save the world if they put their mind to it. We thought that if you turn down the job, we can always choose Kristi Paulson. She was the second place lead" said Ada.

Imagination is one of the most powerful forces on Earth.
"Are you positively sure she's the one, Sister?"
" I am certain, Amalia."
" I don't see why such drastic measures are necessary.
The Crystal Beast said she has the potential."
I pretended to be asleep, wondering what they could be talking about.
