how long bikes have been around for? Bikes have been around for over 200 years for fun and transportation. Bikes have came along way from when the first bike was invented.
X games
The x games started in 1993. The x games is only held twice a year. One for winter sports and one for summer sports. There was once a time when teens played basketball football and baseball in the x games but now teens just want to do stunts and tricks. There are bronze, silver and gold medals for winning different events and also money prizes for first place.
Tour de France
The first tour de France was held in 1903 and covered approximately 3000 miles. The first winner was Maruce Garvin. The tour de France is an annual bike race. This is a mountain bike race. Tour de France started with a very small race and grew bigger, the race goes around mountains in Europe.
Most popular types of bikes.
The most popular kind of bike is bmx (bicycle motocross x). A bmx bike Is for tricks and stunts. It is made of very strong metal to take a beating. The second most popular is a road bike. Road bikes are made for riding for long periods of time. Not tricks or stunts. If you do tricks and stunts it will cause injury and a broken bike. The third most popular kind of bike is mountain bikes. A mountain bike has 6 to 21 speeds and 2 controls to make is easy to pedal or harder to pedal and the other is for how fast you want to go. The fourth kind of bike is a jump bike. A jump bike has no brakes and is made for competitions to see if you can jump over a bar and see how high you can make your bike go vertical. The fifth and the last most popular bike are street bikes. A street bike is a mix of bmx and road bike. It’s lightweight for tricks and stunts but also made to ride too.
U.S. bike brands.
There are so many U.S. brands. Too many to name so I’m going to name just a few U.S. brands. Diamondback specializes in bmx but also makes other kinds. K2 specializes in mountain bikes and doesn’t make other kinds. Haro specializes in road and bmx bikes only. Bike Friday makes only jump bikes that are very expensive. Nishiki makes every kind of bike possible.

Although he was very famous for inventing the first bike the bikes were not made to ride for very long and they were made to ride for only 190 miles. It was not made for tricks or stunts because it would break. baron von Drais was born in Karlsruhe germany on april was a bronze, silver, gold and money prize. 29th 1785. He invented the bike to help him get around royal gardens much quicker. Also he made it all out of wood nowadays bikes are made out of metal or aluminum.
