Your Mission...

BUILD A GREEK TEMPLE - (Groups of two or one)

1. Research a God for whom you will build a temple, using this link:
http://www.historyforkids.org/learn/greeks/religion/gods.htm

2. Using the pictures above as a guide, build a Greek temple from paper and card. Today's math lesson on NETS should help you. See me for some starter templates. (You will need to decide whether you are going to build in the Ionic or Doric style.)

3. When you have completed your temple use your research to create designs to stick on to your:

METOPES: These are the square blocks sitting on top of the pillars carved with mythological scenes related to your God.

PEDIMENTS: These are the triangular spaces on each end of a temple roof. Pediments on the Parthenon show single scenes from mythology.

4. Have a classmate take a photo of you, your partner and your temple and post it on this page.
