THE AMAZING MATH RACE
We just completed our yearly Math scavenger hunt designed along the theme of the tv show The Amazing Race. The students move around the building answering math problems and solving puzzles etc. in order to open locked boxes that provide instructions to find their next clue. We had great fun preparing for the test with this activity this year.

Today we were comparing the myth of Cronus with the myth of Perseus and Acrissios. Both Cronus and Acrissios tried to escape their fate as was told in their prophecies. Fate and prophecy are a recurring theme throughout Greek mythology and also in Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief. We used the carousel method to align quotes from both myths. This is when we move around the room and write our thoughts on posters underneath the quotes.
